So last week, Microsoft and Yahoo teamed up and, with their powers combined, swung the boom hammer at Google. Microsoft and Yahoo announced a partnership where Micrsoft’s new Bing will power the search engine function on Yahoo’s sites. Yahoo, on the other hand, will continue to provide its content and portals, and will manage all ad sales involving searches. It’s a smack of epic proportions. But can this partnership work?? For Yahoo: Yes. For Microsoft: ???

So the other day, I read a blog post on BoingBoing.net about fake bus stops outside of nursing homes. The post was introduced this way, “A nursing home in Germany built an exact replica of a bus stop in front of the facility. The only difference is that buses never stop there.” When patients with Alzheimer’s disease become frustrated and leave the facility, there is now a safe place for them to wait to “leave.” Once they’ve forgotten about what made them storm out in the first place, often a nursing home worker can coax the patient back inside.

Through the years, Apple has built up a reputation for high-quality, well-designed, and very stylish products. The insanely popular iPhone is no exception. Apple has done a phenomenal job of shrinking down Mac OS X and adapting it for use on a mobile phone. In the process they created a software distribution system known as the App Store. Of course, they never give users the option to get apps elsewhere, but that is how Apple traditionally operates.

Sometimes if people have never been involved in getting a website launched, they can be shocked at the price range for services. What is the difference between the under $500 website and the $150,000 website? Sometimes the differences of these sites are in the website design, both in the graphic elements as well as the information design

For example, a higher priced site may have more pleasing design elements, slick animated web pages or stockpiles of great information and tools. On the other hand, lower priced sites often have unrelated menu items where things seem unorganized and overwhelming or old, outdated information and no tools to help you finish your internet quest.

How can you protect yourself, and get a website that performs as part of your team?
