Are blogs a lead generation tool? Someone recently asked me why Worthwhile didn't market to folks who comment on our blog. He expected to be added to our email list as a result of his comment. I was taken back by his question - particularly because he would have preferred that we treat him as a lead. My initial response was a bit of a hurried recitation of the golden rule. What's Your 'About' Page About, Anyway?
It's a simple question that commands a simple answer. Unfortunately, the answer coming back is wrong almost every time. It's the "throwaway" page. The necessary evil. The one that has to "be on there somewhere." It's the place to put the content about you and your organization when you can't quite figure out where else to put it. The result?
