We live in a world of fast internet access, almost-instant food, and great customer service. You could say we’ve become a little spoiled. If you think about the work and sacrifice that former generations put into whatever they were doing out of necessity, our generation will look extremely lacking in discipline. More important than anything else, time is a luxury that many of us don’t have these days. When we pay for something to be done, we want it to be effective immediately or for our users to fall in love with it right away.
Patience is a virtue that Google had when developing Gmail, and I’m sure if you looked at many other technology companies and their innovations, you would realize that a lot of work, pain, and sacrifice went into developing those as well. Greatness is not achieved quickly, but with the hard work and perseverance of those who know how to use time effectively.
The next time you are in the middle of an SEO strategy that doesn’t seem to be making a difference yet or a development meeting for an application you know will need to go through many test phases before it works correctly, remember that genius is not born overnight (although I guess some geniuses are born at night). Success takes time and the tenacious attitude of those who are willing to try again and again until it’s just right.

I was born in the afternoon.
I wanted to find a link about Einstein or something being born at night, but I couldn’t find anything in time. I guess some geniuses can be born in the afternoon too.
