Where do you think the Web 2.0 generation started? I have my own ideas.
I’m huge on Fantasy Football. I’ve been playing since 2001, which unofficially (and arguably) makes me the Worthwhile Fantasy Football Guru. It’s easy to think that playing this make-believe game that interfaces with reality was always this simple. I mean, you log on to the network of your choice (ESPN, NFL.com, Yahoo, CBSSports, et al), join a league, and presto! You’re ready to go! (Apologies for using Latin & Italian in the same sentence.)

In a perfect world, Scrabulous would still be in a good chunk of the world’s Facebook profiles - but nope. Not this world. Not after Hasbro and Mattel decided to start dropping hammers and threaten Facebook with all sorts of litigation. Scrabulous had made Scrabble cool again, and now it’s gone. It’s really a tragic tale of hyper-sensitivity, poor marketing, gutlessness, and the end of one of the most fun applications available on Facebook. Here’s how it all went down:

I have 3 Tuesday morning rituals.
(1) Starbucks coffee (oh wait, that’s every day)
(2) Checking iTunes for the new Free Release
(3) Reading Jeffrey Gitomer
I’ve been reading him almost religiously since May. Gitomer sends out his weekly newsletter first thing every Tuesday morning. (Go to gitomer.com to get the newsletter.) Unless you’re up before the sun, it’ll be in your inbox before the coffee’s done, unless you’re a Starbucks-run on-the-way-to-work kinda person. (Personally, I’m a bean-grind-brew-at home guy…French Press preferred.)

It hadn’t been 24 hours since I poured out my schizophrenic thoughts on Digg that Phil Yanov stopped me at Tech After 5 and proceeded to put me in my place.
“Digg is a ghetto,” he said. I stared at him blankly. He could have just said, “Yo mama’s so obese” and I would’ve had the same reaction. Coming to my senses, I asked Phil, “but what should I do? Digg’s flawed, sure. But it’s the best thing going for news sharing right now.” Okay, so that was a bad thing to say.
